I Rock At Basic

As a programming language, BASIC was...well, accurately named. The low price of the first personal computers caused many of our parents to purchase a Vic-20 or Commodore 64 in the hopes of preparing us early for the information economy, and may even have ambitiously sent you to computer camp to learn programming. They must have thought they had supplied us with all the tools we'd need to be totally set for the future.

Turns out they kind of hadn't. Those computers were mostly good for those typed-out adventure games (remember -- picking things up? Going left? Running into vampires?) and for Centipede, played on cartridges almost as big as VHS tapes. Despite the best efforts of our teachers at computer camp, five half-days aren't really enough to teach anything more involved than a simple two-line program.

You probably still remember it, don't you? Yeah, you do. And if passersby knew how proficient you were, they would be so impressed. Glarkware now makes it possible for you to advertise your mad BASIC skillz, so don't hide your light under a bushel any longer!
